Scholarships through common application

When you apply to Seaside Scholarships, you are automatically considered for the following scholarships.

The first seven scholarships below have additional requirements on top of filling out and submitting the common app. For more information on each of our scholarships (or how to re-apply if you have a renewable scholarship), click on their links below.

Jason Goodding Memorial Scholarship
Must pursue a career in a law enforcement related field or a career in education. *Renewable for 3 additional years*

Additional Requirement:
In 500 words or less please describe how would you positively impact your community through the pursuit of a career in law enforcement or education.

Mr. Knop Memorial Scholarship
Additional Requirement:
In 100 words or less describe how a hobby has influenced your life and your plans for continuing this hobby in the
future.

Janice K. Martin Memorial Scholarship
Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, community involvement and demonstration of leadership.

Additional Requirement:
Explain which community service activity has had the most impact on you and how. 2. What leadership qualities do you have, and how have you demonstrated them? 3. Give five adjectives that describe you.

Steve Martin Memorial Scholarship
Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, community involvement and demonstration of leadership.

Patrick S. Morrisson Memorial Scholarship
Must be first generation in their family to attend post-secondary education. Can be for a two or four year college; a vocational school or a technical school.  Students must be accepted and enrolled in one of the institutions.

Additional Requirement:
In 250 words or less, answer one of the following questions: If you could travel anywhere in the world/universe, where would it be and why? Which Dessert best represents you and why? If you had a wand to fix one thing in your community, what would it be and why?

Chef John Newman Memorial Scholarship
Must be pursuing studies at a Culinary School. Must have previously worked in the Food Service Industry (front or back of house).

Additional Requirement:
In 100 words, explain why you should be considered and what you would like to accomplish in the culinary field.

Stadter Family Charitable Fund Scholarship
Must be attending a 4 year college (in or out of state). Must demonstrate financial need. *Renewable for 4 additional years*

Additional Requirement:
In 500 words, describe where you are in life and how college will change that.


Assistance League of the Columbia Pacific Scholarship
GPA of 2.0 or higher, attending an Oregon community college, trade school or specialty education training program, volunteers hours and participation in community.

Noah Brien Memorial Scholarship
Must be planning to attend a trade/technical school.

Cannon Beach American Legion Scholarship
Must be involved in the community and school and show financial need.

Cannon Beach Sons of The American Legion Post 168 Scholarship
Candidate must show financial need.

Patrick D. Dillian Memorial Scholarship
Must enroll at one of the institutions operated by the Oregon State Board of Higher Education (EOU, OIT, OSU, PSU, SOU, UO, WOU).

Evergreen Masonic Lodge Scholarship
GPA of 3.5 or higher, candidate must exhibit good character, a strong work ethic and dedication to serving others.

Robert Filori Memorial Scholarship
GPA of 2.5 or higher, candidate must attend an Oregon School, and show interest in the teaching field

Friends of Haystack Rock Scholarship
Must be planning to pursue a degree in environmental, marine science, or ornithological studies, attend a community college or 4 year university or college, volunteered and/or worked for HRAP or FOHR for at least 25 hours in the past 12-24 months and demonstrated leadership and interest in these areas of study, during their time at Seaside High School as evidenced by their extracurricular activities and/or recommendations from science teacher(s). *Renewable for 3 additional years*

To be eligible for renewal you must:

• maintain a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher,
• have a declared major in in environmental, marine science, or ornithological studies or related field,
• attest that you have worked or volunteered in your field of study or a related field of study for at least 20 hours since receipt of the scholarship.
• provide one recommendation letter from a college professor, advisor, volunteer, or work supervisor in their field or a related field.

Gene Gilbertson Memorial Scholarship

Jandrall-Babcock Memorial Scholarship
GPA of 2.75 or higher from sophomore year through first semester of senior year, accepted as a half-time or better student by an institution of higher education.

Lum’s Auto Center Scholarship
Candidate must show extracurricular activities, community service, leadership, educational and personal goals.

Lorian (Lory) Louis Marlantes Memorial Scholarship
Must show financial need, extracurricular activities, community service, leadership, educational, personal goals, and academic achievement.

Pacific Northwest Chief Warrant Officer Association Scholarship
G.P.A. of 2.75 or higher, candidate may be going to a 4-year university, community college or vocational school and must show academic excellence, service to school and community, good conduct and leadership.

Dorene Raterman Memorial Scholarship
Female, G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher, candidate must show involvement in activity/athletic program and be well-liked by classmates and teachers.

Wendy Richardson Memorial Scholarship
Must show a supporting attitude and involvement in the community.

Dr. Sheila Eagan Roley Scholarship Fund
Four-year, need-based scholarship, preference to first generation college students; candidate must show a commitment to service, activism and social justice, available to current high school students and previous SHS graduates who may not have had the opportunity to pursue more education immediately following high school. *Renewable for 3 additional years*

School Runnings Scholarship
Must show financial need, community and school involvement.

Seaside Aquarium Scholarship
Must have G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher, must be an Oregon resident for at least one year by the time of the award candidate must be planning on entering a two or four-year accredited higher education institution and demonstrate an interest in and commitment to marine life. This could be from classes taken in high school, volunteering in the community (including the aquarium or related programs, ie the Discovery Program, Haystack Rock Awareness Program (HRAP), Friends of Haystack Rock (FOHR), etc.) or paid work, involving marine life/environment. *Renewable for 3 additional years*

Carol Stutesman Scholarship

  • Graduating Senior from Seaside High School
  • For an Academic 4-year Degree Program Scholarship – G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher
  • For a Vocational Degree / Certificate Scholarship – G.P.A. of 2.0 or higher
  • This scholarship is renewable for 3 more years (4 years total). In order to request the payment for the second year and beyond you follow the same instructions each year as found on the Requesting Scholarships Funds page and text or email the info to Barb Knop:   e) bknop@pacifier.com  ph) 503.440.1298

Toyooka Family Scholarship
Must have G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher, and must show community involvement and school leadership.

Takeko “Susie” Wahl Memorial Scholarship
Female, G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher, preference for a candidate student of color/immigrant/refugee/or first in their family to attend college, demonstration of community service, must have been accepted at accredited 2-year, 4-year, or technical school.

Timothy S. Williams Memorial Scholarship
Must have G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher, and planning a career in the computer technology field.
